Gratitude Journal day 6!

1) The weather outside was absolutely gorgeous this morning. Blue sky, sunny, and the perfect temperature.

2) I went to chapel for my first service of the school year. It was different without Brian, of course, but at the same time a lot was the same, and I do really like Tammy. So I think it will be a good year.

3) Chris came over to the apartment with Sunny and hung out for an hour or so, which was great, because I hadn't seen him in forever!

Gratitude Journal Day 5!

Yesterday's post, since I forgot...

1. I slept in until 11:30!

2. I actually made my own salad - yay for eating healthy!

3. I got to see an episode of Project Runway, a show that I like that I haven't seen in a long time.

Gratitude Journal Day 4!

Hmm... today takes a bit more thought since I spent the entire day hanging around the apartment.

1) I got to eat the rest of the scrumptious no bake cheesecake I made last night. That stuff is delicious and dangerously addictive!

2) I decided to start reading Murder On The Orient Express for class, because I was afraid it might take me a while to finish it once I got busy with other classes. I actually finished it tonight and enjoyed reading it, which was nice.

3) I called the person in charge of payroll at EVSC and straightened out a bit of confusion with the tax forms I had submitted, and so I will be getting paid for the day that I subbed last semester very soon.

Gratitude Journal Day 3

The wonderful OTS staff fixed my laptop after a Windows update went wrong. They fixed it without any trouble and I picked it back up this afternoon. I have it now and it runs as good as ever!

I went to Meet the Teacher night at the school I will be student teaching at next semester. I got to see the parents of the students I'll be teaching and interacted with the other teachers some more. Plus my cooperating teacher asked me to substitute for her next month, which will be great experience.

The weather today was beautifully sunshine-y and hot, but not too humid, so it was really nice outside walking around campus.

Gratitude Journal Day 2!

A belated entry for yesterday, since my laptop had to be taken over to OTS to be fixed...

I had a very successful grocery shopping excursion. I got everything on my list, plus a few extra things (including my very own tea pot!) and still came in two dollars under budget!

I had my senior seminar class, and while it will definitely be hard work and the paper is due in one month (yikes!), the class actually seems like a lot of fun. Ms. Nayden and Dr. Lewis are so funny the way they play off of one another.

I actually cooked both lunch and dinner for myself with very little trouble. Lets hope this trend continues and does not devolve into grabbing granola bars!

Gratitude Journal

Ok, so it's probably been established by now that I'm a bad journaler/blogger. I very rarely update, as anyone can see.

However!

My friend Hannah just wrote a facebook note about something called a gratitude journal. The idea is that you write down 3 happy/encouraging/uplifting things about your day, every day, and by focusing on the positive aspects of your life you become happier in general over the course of time. I think this is a wonderful idea, as I feel there is far too much negativity in the world. So, hopefully this will be turning into my gratitude journal (fingers crossed!).

1) I got to see all my wonderful junior-block education classmates again at the substitute license meeting. I only had the chance to talk with a few of them, but it was nice just seeing everyone again.

2) We had our beginning-of-the-semester meeting at the Writing Center today, and Tiffany (the director) made me laugh quite a bit, as she often does. I love her sense of humor.

3) I love the spontaneity that comes with living with friends and being at college. My roommates and I (all four of us) took a walk around campus in the middle of the night, just listening to music, dancing, and laughing. Where else could you do that?
